Reykjavík, Reykjanes and the Westman Islands
Reykjavik is the most northerly capital in the world. In Greater Reykjavik there lives about one thrid of Iceland’s total population. The peninsula Reykjanes is situated in the south of the capital and is well know for its Blue Lagoon and of course the international airport of Keflavik. The main attraction of the Westman Islands in the south of Iceland’s main island is the volcano Eldfell as well as all the puffins breeding at the west coast of Heimaey.
