Nordurdalur

At the parsonage Skriðuklaustur in the southwest of lake Lögurinn the oldest monastery in Iceland was founded in 1494. Some years ago, excavations took place here. Next door is a museum on the life of the Icelandic writer Gunnar Gunnarsson.
